2nd year done and dusted

My 2nd year is done and dusted for uni. One more year to go. I actually cannot believe I have nearly finished my university course. Like I can remember my first day of being jet lagged as I got back from Hawaii the day before and walking into class knowing no one. Now finishing my 2nd year, making so many amazing friends and having done so many amazing opportunities.

Just yesterday (15.11.16) we did our folio presentation, which may I say I have never been so nervous to do. Like I had butterflies in my stomach the whole time up to presenting. It was such a personal folio which I try and stay away from but I was so glad I got to do it then especially with doing Photojournalism major next year.

Here they are all together. Go check out my photography insta if you want to see them separately plus my meaning of the whole folio.

I am actually so proud and shocked with what I produced. Don't worry even the tutors were shocked with how they turned out. But I am so happy with them. I cannot wait until I get my mark for them. I definitely going to be continuing this as a side project as my tutor suggested. Something to do just to keep exploring the idea as it can definitely be bought out more.

Something I will say is never keep something back, write it down, photograph it or sing it. It allows you to share something that you probably wouldn't and be able to share it with people who may think they know you but don't. It just shows that not everyone is perfect and it also allows you to be more free.

I might do a more in depth little post later about the idea that I explore which is the loneliness of an only child.

Anyway only 4 days until I set off my cruise for 2 weeks!

Update again

Hello again, long time no speak,

God I am really hopeless with this, as I said in my "Start Over" blog post, do not hold me to the once a week post, well look it has been 10 months and I am finally updating again. Whoops soz not soz. Look things happen and I may or may not have forgotten about this.
Anyway how has it been? For me a bit of a stressful year, let's catch you up on 10 months of my life.

-First off as you have known I started a YouTube channel, well I have private all the videos and not really continuing on with it. I kind of hated when friends found out and bagged me on it and I couldn't be bothered filming and editing once a week. It was definitely fun, I definitely encourage people to try it out, I just didn't have time to keep it up. Though one day in the future I really want to daily vlog especially when I get married and have kids. A good way to see them grow and a good way to show family what you are up to.

-I saw Rob Thomas in Feb, which may I say was bloody amazing. I kind of forgot it happened at the start of the year, I was keep thinking it was last year but nope it happened. Loved it, definitely one of my favs though all concerts I have been to have been my favourites.

-I got to finally meet both Umbilical Brothers, which is something that I was so happy about. Got to see them perform Speedmouse for their 25th anniversary and sat in the 2nd row which was amazing. Got to hug both and get a photo with each separately and together. Definitely my favourite comedic duo.

-I went to Queensland, Gold Coast, finally for the first time ever. It only took me 19 years to do so. You always hear people in primary and high school saying they always went there for their first plane trip or holidays. We mainly went there for footy, Hawks versing Brisbane as they hadn't played at the Gabba for like 10 years or something, so also did a day trip to Brisbane for the footy. But we stayed in Gold Coast mainly. We also went to Sea World and Movie World, I would definitely go back but with friends or more family, not just mum and I but still loved it.

-I started photographing local football for AFL South East and SEFNL (South East Football Netball League). As I want to get into sport/AFL photography after uni, I thought I would start volunteering especially to practice. Which it definitely was a great experience.

-I also got to shoot Box Hill Hawks (VFL affiliated team with Hawthorn Football Club) as my mum used to work with the assistant coach at the time. So that allowed me to get in contact with their photographer to photograph Box Hill on the ground. Which was an amazing experience and opportunity that I will definitely continue hopefully. And it also paid well as it was my Semester 1 folio.

-Talking about uni, I went into my 2nd year of Advanced Diploma at PSC. And tomorrow as you are reading this now or in the future I am talking about the 15th of November, is when I present my Semester 2 folio. I cannot believe I am finishing my 2nd year, it has gone way too quickly. I got more into sport photography this year as well as continuing building my skills. For Semester 2 folio I chose to go very personal, photos from the folio will be up on my photography insta during the week so keep an eye on that. I also picked my major for my third and final year which is going to be Photojournalism which I am so excited for. As I have my mentor being Photojournalist, Darrian Traynor who also went to the same uni as me and did the same course. It will also allow me to build my confidence into working with people and directing people. Even though I want to focus on sport/AFL photography I do want venture into the whole photojournalism side of things as well as I love telling storied throughout  my images.

Okay I think you are all up to date for now. Hopefully. Though I am off on a 14 day cruise on the 20th of Nov for 2 weeks, hopefully I can keep a little diary on my laptop and put it up when I get home so keep an eye out for that with photos.

Also I may or may not be listening to Christmas music right now as well.

I really and truly want to keep this up to date as much as I can, like I said a little diary for me to look back on and shit.

Also if you want to see some of my photography work or see what I am up to and stuff, don't forget to follow these accounts below.

Starman has lifted off

I cannot believe it has been more than a week since the legend of David Bowie sadly passed away.
I remember going to get my phone which was charging and seeing the notification, so and so tweeted with #RIPDAVIDBOWIE, plus one of my best friends messaging me it. My whole stomach literally dropped. I was absolutely devastated. I had to see if this was true, I went on twitter seeing everyone posting about it. We truly just lost an amazing music legend to a horrible disease.

The first time I saw David Bowie or even heard of him was in Labyrinth, and to be honest it became on of my favourite movies after it. Yes it was a bit scary at first with those little goblin things but the music was so energizing and well written. Plus you cannot forget Bowie's bulge.
I actually only gotten into his music probably at the start of 2015, maybe at the end of 2014. I had always heard it and loved it, but I really listened to his music later.

Only in September, myself and one of my uni friends went to the David Bowie Is Exhibition at ACMI in Melbourne. It was amazing seeing how David Robert Jones became David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust. From his musical journey to his outfits and style but through it all he wrote amazing lyrics and brilliant hits that anyone and everyone loved and knew. When we went, we were probably the only young ones there but it was amazing to see how many people actually loved David Bowie and what he did. I ended up loving him more and more and saw him as such a memorable singer that has become a legend in my book.

I only found out that my Mum's first album, well record as she is old, hopefully she doesn't find this and read that bit, anyway, her first album was actually a David Bowie album. It is amazing to see even with the age difference between my mum and I, we still had a good taste in music and see how one man can bring different ages, gender, religion, cultural background together through his music.

I also remember being in shop one day and David Bowie was playing. I was looking at clothes and one of the shop assistants was organising everything around and I said, "at least you have good music to keep you going," and she went, "yes of course, nothing can beat Bowie." She was only young too but it was amazing to see anyone will love his music.

At 69 and passing away of cancer is a horrible way to go. I have been through that pain of seeing someone die slowly everyday and it is so painful as all you want is them to be in peace and not in pain but not to leave you as you will miss them too much. I feel his final goodbye was definitely his album, 'Blackstar' which now looking at it after his death can totally make sense. But he leave an amazing final touch on Earth, the final David Bowie masterpiece, the final touch of magic from him.

The music industry won't be the same, as he has influenced so many singers, songwriters, actors, creative people around the world. He's story and music will live on as I will definitely be getting my children to listen to him. Even if I have to force them with headphones blaring or his music on full blast around the house. Just to have someone be touched or encounter his music will allow it to live on longer.

We have lost a legend who will remain a legend.
Rest in Peace David Bowie. 1947-2016

NEW START!

Hello again it has been a while.

My last post was a year and a half ago, when I was still in high school well my final year and was getting ready for the real world.
Well I have survive a year of the real world of adulthood and university. Yes I have done one year of university, photography to be more specific, and I have loved it, I cannot wait to get back right into it.
I actually forgot about this blog to be honest, then I stumbled across it from reading a friend's blog and looked back on what I wrote about and it bought back many memories and how much I missed my blog. hopefully you have stuck around for that long, sorry again.
So I thought I might as well as use this space and bring it back to life again. As you may see I have changed the design to be more handwritten and a lot more true.

I should probably update you first on what has been happening in the past nearly 2 years.
Firstly I finished high school, hallelujah! I am so glad, I only stay in touch with a few high school friends, but that will happen as you grow and see who are your true friends are.
I went to LA & Hawaii with my mum, cousin and best friend as a graduation/18th present. It was absolutely amazing. We went to Disneyland, which OMG love it, it is my goal to go to every Disney Resort in the world, it is my mission, well at least I have been to Hong Kong and LA's Disneylands. Still a few to go. Next we went and stayed in West Hollywood and went to many places which was amazing. And then I final stop was Hawaii, Waikiki which I fell in love with and want to go back so badly.
Next I started my first year on university which I met so many new people and made new best friends. Learnt so many new skills and expressed my creativity more which still can be pushed a lot more. If you want to check out some of my images, check out my website.
I also started a YouTube channel. Please go and check it out, I do a bit of beauty, lifestyle, talking, just stuff that I love to do. I started it just as a little hobby and absolutely love doing it.

I think you are all up to date, hopefully. I wanted to restart my blog as more of a thought process, with whatever was on my mind/journal/diary entry type of blog. After reading Girl Online and Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg, which I love! I loved the idea of just writing your own thoughts and feeling on a page and even getting advice from people around the world. Also a place that I can go back to read in many years to come. Being an only child with a single mum can be hard sometimes as you mostly have your own thoughts to think on, so I am thinking of my blog as my older sister/brother that I never had. I hope you can join me on this journey I embark on with this blog.
I don't know how often I will post on here but hopefully at least once a week with my YouTube videos that go up on every Wednesday and then even a blog post. But please don't keep my word on that, maybe some weeks I might not feel like I need to write anything, so I might not.

I think I word vomited enough, I hope you join me and enjoy this adventure.
